A passionate resident of Superior Township, Emily Dabish Yahkind is the Founder and CEO of SolSummit, a premium and certified sustainable wine company. SolSummit partners with family vineyards to support sustainable business and agricultural practices while providing consumers with the best-tasting low-intervention wines and is sold across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Mountain States.
Additionally, Dabish Yahkind serves as the Senior Michigan Advisor for CIV:LAB--a New York-based nonprofit dedicated to aligning resources across sectors in technology and deploying grant funding to mitigate climate change. In 2023, CIV:LAB dispersed $500,000 in unrestricted grant funding across the State of Michigan, which Dabish Yahkind oversaw. Previous roles include policy work with the Detroit City Council during its bankruptcy, pro-immigration policy with the Governor's Administration, and directing strategic partnerships for Quicken Loan's Rocket Fiber. Dabish Yahkind is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she received her BA in Political Science and Johns Hopkins University where she received an MA in Public Management. She holds a certificate in Conflict Resolution issued from Johns Hopkins University SAIS Europe and the International Peace and Security Institute.
Dabish Yahkind serves as a Planning Commissioner in Superior Township and volunteers for charitable efforts including Mott Children's Hospital Event on Main where she is on the Executive Committee and is responsible for media and communications. The event raises nearly $1M yearly for the Charles Woodson Fund embedded within the Children's Hospital and Michigan Medicine. She is on the university-wide Alumni Council for Johns Hopkins as well as the Regional Lead in Michigan; the winner of Eastern Michigan University's 2023 Venture Challenge which provided $25,000 to her business; a board member of the Dixboro Village Green; former board member of the Caravanserai Project. Her household includes her husband, son, and middle-aged Jack Russell.
